Rebecca Newman

 

Bec is an experienced and enthusiastic physiotherapist who uses a holistic approach to treatment and intervention to help children and their families achieve their goals. 

Bec completed her Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) in 2017 at Curtin University and a Bachelor of Science (Sports Science with Honours) at the University of Western Australia in 2012. Bec has extensive experience working as a senior physiotherapist, having worked with children with disabilities for 5 years in both Perth and London.

Bec is very passionate about early childhood intervention. Bec enjoys educating and supporting families with understanding the strategies and skills that will aid their child’s development and achievement of their goals.
Bec seeks out regular opportunities to support her professional development and is a member of both the Australian Physiotherapy Association Paediatric group and United Kingdom Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists. Bec completed her Honours thesis in 2012 looking at the relationship between the Gross Motor Function Classification System and global indices for children with cerebral palsy. Bec travelled to Toronto, Canada to receive her Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME) Level I certification and has recently completed her Level II Certification through the Cuevas Medek Exercises Continuing Education Program with Simona DeMarchi, CME IV Certified Practitioner.

When Bec’s not at work, you can find her tending to her plant collection, starting a new art project that will never get finished, or spending time at the beach with friends and family.
