Exercise Physiology
An exercise physiologist is an allied health professional that uses exercise to work with individuals experiencing chronic and complex medical conditions. Conditions our Exercise Physiologists can treat:
- Metabolic conditions such as Childhood Obesity, Diabetes, metabolic syndrome, dyslipidaemia
- Mental Health conditions such as anxiety and depression
- Neurological and developmental conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Muscular Dystrophy
- Cardiovascular conditions, such as congenital heart defects
- Childhood Arthritis and Osteoporosis
- Post-surgical Rehabilitation

- Gross motor delays in child and youth, including:
- Crawling

- Treating childhood obesity and diabetes through fun and engaging modalities of movement.
- Creating a positive relationship with exercise to support involvement in community sports, maintaining a healthy habit across the child’s lifespan and increase confidence.
- Liaising with schools and teachers to implement appropriate adjustments for physical activity in the classroom, or playground, for neurodivergent children and those living with a physical limitation for engagement in the required tasks.
- How to implement structured physical activity in a child’s day to achieve greater increases in productivity with non-preferred activities, such as school work.
- Utilising assistive technology, such as walkers, standers, to promote engagement in physical activity.
