Sam Warne
Sam is a creative, fun-loving empathetic OT, passionate disability advocate and terrible dancer. Prior to OT, Sam completed a Double Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications (2012) and worked as a music/drama teacher. She transitioned from teacher to support worker over a decade ago, compelled by her desire to truly make a difference in the lives of others. Whilst working as a support worker Sam was nominated for and won awards for excellency in support work and disability advocacy and published her own inclusive children’s book titled “A Friend Like Mine” providing representation for children with disabilities in mainstream literature.
In 2022, she returned to study and graduated from Curtin University with first class honours from a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Since then, Sam has worked predominantly with individuals with neurological conditions in the community space. Her favourite thing about being an OT is helping others improve their quality of life by connecting what is most meaningful to them to their therapeutic goals. She strongly believes there is no “one-sized-fits-all” approach to therapy, especially when it comes to kids. She highly values the input of family/carers and creating strong, collaborative relationships.
Sam loves the gym, beach, hanging with her nieces and nephews, walking dogs, and drinking questionable amounts of coffee. She is VERY excited to work with you and your family!
